Damas Company celebrated the International Labor Day on the 01st of May 2019 by organizing half day sports events which involved everyone from Damas and its sister companies. The purpose of celebrating the day with such flair was to bring all the employees together in an informal setting to have a good time.
The half-day featured interdepartmental futsal (male) and handball (female) as the main events. After a competitive tournament, the winning teams were declared and the most valuable players chosen. Other fun events include the sack race, baton relay and the crowd favorite, hoop game in which even the most serious competitors had trouble controlling their laughter. Champion teams and winners were awarded certificates and cups as mementos. Although competitive, the day was all about good-natured fun and enjoyment.
The sports day by Damas turned out to be a huge hit amongst the staff with high participation throughout the ranks of the company. There is much support for the labor day sports event to be made into an annual tradition of the company. The event planned for 2020 will be carried out on an even larger scale than this years’ event.
